Come On Over!
Beautiful Natural Scenery
If ever a nation was defined by it’s physical geography, it is Canada. Few countries can boast the kind of space and natural wonder found here. Travellers from all over the planet are inspired by the overpowering sense of scale and vastness. From crystal blue glacial lakes, to rolling hills of wheat as far as the eye can see, to cathedral-like forests with thousand-year-old tress, to soaring mountains that dwarf passers by, one look will confirm that Canada and it’s wild backyard exist simply to inspire and amaze. The nature of this magnificent country seems to lurk quietly and confidently in the minds of those of us who call it home.
Bountiful Wildlife
Canada also boasts a wide variety of wildlife, both big and small. While the noble Beaver is our national animal, the mighty Moose is perhaps our most heralded species, likely owing to its enormous size and majestic antlers! Three species of bears are found here: the common Black Bear (which actually comes in black, brown, cinnamon, and blonde flavours), the hulking Grizzly Bear (also known as the Alaskan Brown Bear or Kodiak Bear) and the fierce Polar Bear. Other animals for you to discover include Mountain Lions, Wolves, Elk, Caribou, Deer, Buffalo, Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Marmots, Squirrels, Chipmunks, Orca Whales, Gray Whales, Minke Whales, Finback Whales, Seals, Sea Lions, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and Hawks.
Adventure Activities
If you are looking for adventure, we’ve got it! Canada has often been described as the New Zealand of the northern hemisphere, in reference to the myriad of activities that are available here. Thrill seekers can go skydiving, bungee jumping, zip lining, whitewater rafting, quad-biking, caving, abseiling, rock climbing, scuba diving, paragliding, hang-gliding, hot air ballooning, and parasailing. For the less adventurous, there is hiking, camping, horse riding, glacier walking, go karting, and mountain biking. Water activities include canoeing, kayaking, swimming, surfing, riverboarding, sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, houseboating, fishing, and whale watching. During the winter, you can try ice skating/hockey, snowboarding, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, snow tubing, tobogganing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.
Super Cities
Come and visit our clean, safe, and friendly cities and towns, which are rich in diversity. On the west coast, stunningly beautiful scenery defines cities like Vancouver, which nestled between the Coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean, has consistently been voted as the world’s #1 city in which to live for the past 12 years. In central Canada, more cosmopolitan and culturally diverse cities like Toronto and French-speaking Montreal provide some trendy hustle and bustle and offer an irresistible array of ethnic restaurants, bakeries and shops to tempt the palate. Push further east to the sleepy Maritimes, and discover the small fishing communities where Europeans first settled in Canada. This small community sense of pride is still very palatable even in the bustling city centre of Halifax, where warmth, hospitality, and kindness remain the centerpiece of the city.
So strap on a backpack and come discover the heart of the Canadian character! Get off the beaten path and marvel at our natural beauty and wildlife. Experience Canada’s great outdoors by participating in fun and adventurous activities. Immerse yourself in our welcoming and unassuming culture. Come to Canada!
